Entry Way Expansion - Avoiding The Cluster Struggle

Baby carrier under the arm. Drag-leading the toddler out of the rain with the free hand.  The five year old runs ahead to slowly take off his shoes in the small split level landing. Mom, baby, toddler, five year old on the small landing. Its a minor miracle that one of the kids doesnt get pushed down the stairs every time, instead of just some of the time.

Oh that cluster! It sounds kinda fun if it happened once - running in from a warm summer rain, coming back from a family walk or playing at the neighbors. But the daily cluster is not romantic, it's struggle.

So our task was clear, create an entry way that elimnated the struggle and tied naturally into the existing house. One small detail that I thought turned out well was the vault on the inside. It looks grand for a smallish addition, and it tied in really well with the existing space.
